LESSON 1: WHAT IS THE REASON NOT ALL PEOPLE ARE HEALED?
LESSON 1: WHAT IS THE REASON NOT ALL PEOPLE GET HEALED
SCRIPTURE
Mark 9:17-18:
Then one of the crowd answered and said, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit. And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not.”
TEACHING POINTS
Most diseases/ illnesses have a root cause. It is important to determine that root in order for healing to take place.
Sicknesses have a root pattern:
A-CASE: Most common (50%-90%)
B-CASE: Less Common (15%-30%)
C-CASE: Least Common (5%-10%)
There also is a percentage of “off cases” that do not fit the first three categories and are unique in their expression.
As a believer we have the approval, permission and commission of Christ to heal the sick! (see Matthew 10:1)
Why do we often not see people healed?
- We don’t really understand the authority that we have.
- We don’t really know how to flow with the power of the Holy Spirit.
- We don’t really understand how to find the root of the problem.
We have been given the same power that Jesus has and get to operate out of his track record of healing, not our own.
> Jesus healed everybody who came to Him. HE is the same yesterday, today and forever.
When some are not healed, it is our job to get to the root of it, remove it and then expect power to flow so healing can take place.
Luke 6:40
A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.
> The disciples were expected to do the same works as Jesus; the same applies to us.
Often we have been trained to walk in unbelief.
We need to let go of unbelief and lay hold of what Jesus has purchased for us.
APPLICATION
Luke 6:40 is a well known scripture - but do we walk in it? Take time and meditate on the verse. (Meditate meaning turn the words into a prayer and give space for the Holy Spirit to speak)
What areas is He highlighting in your life and inviting you into to walk more like Him?
